In seiner vierten Einzelausstellung in der Galerie Daniel Buchholz zeigt der in New York lebende Künstler T.J. Wilcox (*1965 in Seattle) erstmalig eine Serie seiner Collagen sowie einen neuen 16mm-Film “A Fair Tale”.
Die Collagen versammeln Szenen und Materialien aus früheren Filmen von Wilcox: “The Escape of Marie Antoinette”, dem ersten 16mm-Film des Künstlers, “The Death and Burial of the First Emperor of China”, “The Funeral of Marlene Dietrich” und “La Comtesse de Castiglione”. Gemeinsam ist diesen historischen Figuren und den Episoden, die Wilcox darstellt eine besondere Stilisierung ihres Todes und somit ihres möglichen Nachlebens.
“A Fair Tale” T.J. Wilcox’ soeben fertig gewordener neuester 16mm-Film erzählt eine Kindheitserinnerung des Künstlers.
